February Weekly Blog Posts
February 28, 2021
Hi Everyone,
Here are the videos I’ve watched and selected for you this week. Unlike my previous videos, this week’s videos are about a child’s evolution, table tennis rules, and some fun.
I found this timelapse of a player going from beginner to expert. The child started to play as a recreational player and became an expert in a year. The coach not only emphasizes on improving the strokes but also focuses on physical exercise which is also very important to advance your game. (about 5 minutes)
The “21 point game” is history, but many people still play that way. Watch this video on the rules of table tennis. Learn how to actually count the points in a game, the size of the table, the height of the net, and more basic elements. Professional players know these specific measurements. (about 3 minutes)
Watch Ellen play table tennis against two brothers (who are champions). Ellen plays a smash shot, the child is unable to return it, and he returns with an advanced “tomahawk” serve. (about 4 minutes)
Why couldn’t the child return Ellen’s shot? Email me back and I can tell you about my theory.
I am still working on this month’s blog post about backhand and forehand push strokes. Hopefully, the post will be out next week with a video to support it.

Hi All,
Here is the list of videos for this week.
Watch the Top 10 points of Women World cup 2020. USA player Lilly Zhang was listed in the top 10 best points rally. Take a look at a couple of rallies between Margaryta Pesotska (Ukraine, age 29) and Adriana Diaz (Puerto Rico USA, age 20) fighting for each point, despite their age difference. (about 6 minutes)
Watch Jon Waldner’s (Sweden) magic shots. During the match, he literally forces his opponents to play the wide-angle balls and then places the ball to win the point. (about 6 minutes)
Liu Guoliang's coaches Lily Zhang and Adriana Diaz. Guoliang has won 3 grand slams. He was coaching Zhang and Diaz on how to tackle short and long balls. (about 3 minutes)
Watch Timo boll’s Top 10 best shots Look at Boll’s few outstanding backhand shots. In the last magnificent rally, he switches his hands at the end, plays an awesome backhand sidespin shot from a very wide-angle, and wins the point. (you might have seen this last shot in one of my earlier videos). (about 5 minutes)

Watch the future of table tennis. How the future of the world championships arena will look like. It’s a novel, creative and colorful concept. (about 2 minutes)
Watch these spin shots. Look at the spin while the player hits the ball. You get to also see a couple of disguised spin shots. (about 2 minutes)

Hi all,
Here are a few videos I have selected for you this week.
Watch the longest rally I have ever seen that consists of forehand loop attacks and defensive push returns that require skill and practice. (about 2 minutes)
Watch the evolution of a young player, initially the child’s hand-eye coordination was of a novice player. However, as he continued coaching drills, he improved his strokes, coordination, and footwork, how amazing! (about 3 minutes)
Watch this music video. Listen to a touching song, to spread optimism, along with some table tennis. (about 3 minutes)
Watch this funny and entertaining video. Unbelievable trick shots. (about 3 minutes)
What are some takeaways from these videos?
Do any of you have suggestions for videos/articles for my weekly emails?
I hope you enjoyed it and have fun!
Thanks,
Coach Aabid
